I am trying to deploy App server R12.1 to Azure and it is my first time. So that means that the docs give no info on what I need most. I want to ignite the instance but am not sure what IP address info to use, I have only done onsite virtual set ups so we usually use an internal address and go from there. I need to know what I ignite it to for IP addressing, does this come from the IT provider or do I leave this DHCP?

Follow the guide where it goes into setting the IP address for the Server from the console

Chapter 13: Initial Server Configuration -Setting the virtual machine's IP address

Once you have a reachable IP address you should be good to go.

Do you have the link the guide I have does not have the Chapter13 you reference?

This is for local VM servers what about Azure I don't control the IP addresses and was looking to see if I need the IT provider to tell me the routable address or just to keep it at DHCP which gives it a public address that is routable?

This should all be planned out ahead of the installation, I personally, would only use static IP addresses and have the Server Edition sat behind a firewall.

You need to talk to the customer IT provider.

I could really use some help from anyone who has installed the App server in Azure. I am not sure it is supported after talking to TS. I have a IP500V2 onsite that we will upgrade to R12.1 then we want to install the App server VM Pro on Azure to connect back to the IP500V2. The issue I see is that when I go to ignite the instance I need to provide an IP address for the App server, what I need to know should this be a private address provided by the IT provider/Azure or should I be using the public info? The Docs do not speak of this set up clearly.

You don't want the AppServer to be placed directly in the internet. You sound build a VPN or another private connection between Azure and the local site and let the AppServer have a private IP.
