The headset that works very well with all of our 'newer' Avaya phones has been discontinued from what I've been told and seen online. Our replacement is the CS55 (Plantronics obviously). Considering this is the replacement, this headset fails hard. You need to take the handset off hook, and then press the headset button to take a call. I want to go forward in technology rather than backwards 20 years. This thing gets plugged into where your headset curly cord goes then your handset cord gets plugged into the base of the wireless unit. Nothing goes into the ADJ plug anymore. This thing is nothing more than some inline adapter headset from 20 years ago. You now need a handset lifter or special $70 cable for this thing to work as the AWH-55+ did. Really, a handset lifter? A $250 dollar VoIP phone with a $250 wireless headset and you have to mount a handset lifter onto all of your phones using two-sided tape or some special $70 cable?
Anyway, if you have some AWH-55+ headsets, cherish them. The replacement is junk. I've included a link to a document that is a chart of what $70 cable to buy for what phone you have.
Funny thought.... The wireless headset with special cable or handset lifter cost more than the actual phone.

PBX tech we went to the newer CS70N with the electronic lifters. I am like you and do not necessarily like them as well as the older model by the way they hookup. But they do work fine with our 2410 sets.

We were installing the HL-10 liters and again they worked but it's not that pretty of a setup. Also they were sold as a set, which would drive the cost down a little bit. The new lifters APV-6A do a good job. and are cheaper (in cost) than the sets were that included the HL-10.

that does stink that the Avaya branded plantronics headsets can't be bought anymore. But at least there is something, ie a $70 cable, that can be bought to make it work. I agree about using the lifter. Not an option, IMO.
