I have a customer who's running MicroTrend's PC-cillin and He was having some browser troubles with So I installed my favs...spysweeper, easycleaner, and toolbar cop and cleaned up his system. I can't remember if it was after the registry cleaner (easycleaner) or the toolbarcop, but afterwards it seemed that the computer started to seriously slow down. Not to mention I still couldn't fix his browser issue with Monster.com.

So I ran taskmgr and notice that his AVSW spike up to 99% CPU time and hung there. I tried to disable it, but it didn't work, so I did an end task on the executable and after that the thing was working great.

My suspicions are that somehow I might have corrupted his AVSW. I'm looking for some validation on my suspicions and anything else you can think of that might have caused this problem.

A week ago this machine had some serious virus infections so his AVSW is brand new. That might also be his problem.

Any help is greatly appreciative.

TIA,

Carrie
