I've recently installed AVG Internet Security and since then I can't connect to my remote computer at work from home via remote desktop if avg firewall is activated.

To connect to work, I have to first login to our VPN. I can login to it fine with AVG firewall enabled, the remote desktop connection just won't connect until I then deactivate it.

If I deactivate, I can connect to my remote computer fine via remote desktop. Can anyone tell me how to configure avg firewall so I can let it remain active and still connect to my remote computer?

Thanks!

Hello,

You can try to create a rule in the AVG Firewall. To do this you will need to open the AVG Control Center, Right click on the Firewall, and then left click on Configure.

You will need to go into the Profile tab, and change the profile to Computer in Domain. Then you will need to go to the systems tab and scroll down to the Remote Desktop Server, left click on the Red X and click allow. Keep the Remote Desktop Server Highlight and left click on Add Rule, left click on Create Rule. Under the Available Services find Remote Desktop Client and move it to the Applied Services, make sure that the Actions says allow and all the available networks are checked then click OK. Then you will need to give the System service a name ( ex. RDP Client). Then click OK.
