3.4 ghz Dell XPS 2 gig memory. XP pro w/all updates.
The PC was blue screening when I came in each morning after running all night. The boot time got progressively longer and longer until it took minutes to boot up.
Finally got one bluescreen that reverenced AVG anti rootkit.
I removed the rootkit and had a great recovery.
P.S. I cleaned up afterwards with CCleaner and got even better results. CCleaner is on of the first reg fix products I have ever used that doesn't lead to a reinstallation in short order. Does a good safe job.
Look out for the AVG. I found a few references about troubles, but not many.
