avg and ganda

As I've been having some problems with Nortons, I thought I'd give avg a try. To my complete amazement, it didn't think that ganda was a virus. It works fine with eicar, so the setup is ok.
Anyone else found this. Currently it is looking a bit pointless.

I meant has anyone else found that avg doesn't detect ganda, and didn't that make avg a bit pointless?

Don't know if AVG acutually detects ganda, but they claim they do:

This is interesting, I have no idea of how valid or how fair the tests are.

They seem to get appreciably different results for different OS. I wasn't aware there was any such difference.
