Anyone has news on this please ?
If the problem is the Codec G729 used by the iphone... can it be changed?
Any advise?

But first you'll have to jump in a time machine to go back to when Blackberry was useful/relevant!
 
Every software company creating telecom software for iPhone and Android release their software for iPhone with limited functionality.
Basically iOS is just another derivate of Linux as Android is but Apple hardened is in such a way that a lot of functions are blocked for use by software and only Apple can use them. So in this case send your complaints to Apple, they are to blaim.
