The Avaya One-X Call Asssistant works well in the office and does what its supposed to do!
I can't get the Avaya One-X Call Asssistant to connect over my VPN connection although the One-X application connects and works.
The VPN is via a Netgear FVS338 and the vpn client on the pc is 'The Greenbow VPN client'

Any Ideas.

I do not use the Netgear or greenbow client.
I use the screwsoft vpn client which is free and the softphone will work.
The soft phone does not work with the greenbow client (at least not for us)
I use a 336 which is similar to the 338.
I just tried the call assistant and it works very well.

Thanks tlpeter, I have just downloaded the shrewsoft client, what version are you running?
We also have problems with the softphone and also disconnections on the greenbow client vpn.

I use the 2.2.0
I am not sure if the disconnects will be solved.
The routers can be unstable.
What software version are you running on the 338?

We are running Version 3.0.6-25 on the FVS338.

That is the last one.
Although they perhaps have a newer beta version but then you should contact Netgear.

Hairlesssupportmonkey If you want to send me a real firewall up to Manchester then I will gladly install it!

:) HSM is allergic for Netgear.
For a part he is right.
I have seen strange things with Netgear routers but i have also seen router which do not have problems at all.(same type and software version and same phone)

Just setup and tested the Shrew Soft vpn client and Avaya Call Assistant does now connect & works so thanks for the info tlpeter.

Off track but maybe related I have a problem that i currently manage to work around but a fix would be nice.
Laptop VPN -> Netgear, Laptop Net-Support V9 (still use it from the Index Days) to Office Remote PC running XP and then dial out into systems using dialup networking. When a connection is established the Net-Support session drops and will only reconnect when the dialup is disconnected.

Oh and are you getting any script errors when running One-X portal, they seem to have started since upgrading to V7?

You mean activeX ???
I have seen that yesterday.
Someone used firefox and needed to allow activeX
IE9 does not work by the way :)

Hi tlpeter,

I get the script error (do you want to continue running scripts on this page) when running One-X portal in IE8.

Using Firefox its works well with no problems.

Thanks again for the info on the VPN Client, both the Call Assistant & The Softphone are working after changing to the Screwsoft client.

I have seen the active X on firefox and not on IE :)
But i have seen it too so i guess it does use active X now :)
Perhaps you can try to see what happens when you add the link in to the trested zone.

Just tried it in Trusted and then local zones and still the same script error.

Then you have to enable active x for that site (i don't know if that is possible) or completely.
