The item description below shows..

Avaya J100 Wireless Module
The J100 Wireless Module is an optional plug in hardware module. It provides WLAN connectivity for the J129 IP Phone and WLAN/Bluetooth
connectivity for the J179 IP Phone.
Support for WLAN requires J100 2.0.0 software.
Support for Bluetooth requires J100 4.0.0 software.

My query is if you connect up the wireless module onto a J129 phone, then where would you plug in any power supply as I can't find it.
Silly question to ask here, but I can see the 5 volt connector for a J179 phone OK, but this doesn't appear to be visible on the J129 phone.
The reason for my asking is that I want to try them out on a demo system to see how good they are.

I've since found that the J129 doesn't have a power adapter

Power
All Avaya J100 Series IP Phones are complied with Energy star. They support the following power
sources:
• Avaya DC 5 volt adapter with barrel jack
• Power over Ethernet (PoE) or LAN-based powering as per IEEE 802.3af specification.

Power Sources J129 J169 J179
PoE Class 1 Class 1 or 2 Class 1 or 2
Avaya power adapter No DC 5 volt DC 5 volt

This makes me wonder how does the J129 power up without POE, but with a wireless module?.

As you pointed out, the J129 does not have the jack for the 5 volt power supply and only uss PoE. For the J129, you would use an inline PoE injector (such as the Avaya GSPOE) for only power.

Thanks for that gwebster. So the only real answer is to connect the phone onto a POE device, but actually let it connect via the wireless module assuming that the network it's on isn't linked over to where the IPO can be reached?.

Crazy isn't it. Power is delivered over the Ethernet port but not with Data.

Imagine a POE injector but without the input data cable and you're some way along to how this looks.

Yep and I thought Nortel was bad with silly ideas over the years!. I don't feel bad now by asking the question. I wonder how many of these have been sold and fitted with the wireless adapter?.

None on my part. Have a wireless module in a J179 which connects to a bluetooth speaker (Polycom VoxBox). Works very well.
