I am connecting Viking c-2000b doorphone controller to a analog port on IP Office 500. I programmed a short code of *83* to be a direct dial hotdial, I programmed the short code on the analog user but can't get it to dial when I go off hook

How did you actually format the shortcode and what are you trying to call with that shortcode? :)

I programmed *83* (feature = Direct Dial Hotline) Then programmed that short code on the analog set. I am trying to get a Viking C-2000B to work. The door phones are Viking E-40

That's the wrong feature, if you use a user short code of ?D and set the feature as "Dial extn" then enter the number of the extn/user you are trying to ring into the number field that will ring that extn/user as soon as the port goes off hook, no need to programme anything else
