I am running ip office in basic pbx mode. Extension 540 and 542 are ib card number 2 skit 3 and 4, Extension 514 and 515 are on BP1 and BP2 of card 2, a combo card with 6/2/4.. Is there any way to swap these two extensions. Cannot do it with renumber. I do not have an essential license.

thanks.....

Can't just do a swap

Renumber Ext. A to a "placeholder"
Renumber Ext. B to Ext. A
Renumber Ext. A from the Placeholder to Ext. B

Example
540 -> 599
542 -> 540
599 -> 542

Dont swap in programming, that will oon make mess of the port ignments on the system maiking your maintanence tsk harder
simply physicaly swap the patch cables.

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

I am using 11.0.0.4 build 74....cannot use standard mode..They want to use existing extension numbers. Some of the existing numbers are outside the range of the cards installed...I do not know any other way than to renumber extensions. I guess I am stuck with redoing system assignments in small groups....I agree maintenance is a problem....they really want old extension numbers....Customer is always right....

thanks

Have you considered renumbering the ENTIRE range of extensions to something that doesn't conflict with your desired dial plan, and then renumber one by one or in groups to the actual extension numbers? For instance, in Merlin Magix, using "set up space", the first extension port is 7100, and they count up from there. You then just renumber the ports you are going to use to the required extension number, leave the unused ports alone until it comes time to set up for a new extension.

Thanks, Will redo extension that way....just trying to be lazy had all but four extensions ok...naturally the two were analog vs digit that I had wrong....

I want the Operator to have line appearance =a =b and =c. =a and =b are assigned by the system. How do I give the operator line appearance =c. Running basic mode pbx 8 lines x 32 extensions. Operator answers calls and then transfers them immediately. I would like the operator to be able to handle 3 calls simultaneously. looks like intercom but is it intercom outgoing? I have my doubts.

tks

In basic mode you get 2 intercom/call appearances and can not add more or move them. Thats basic mode for you. However, if you are in key mode, calls come in on the lines and not on appearances.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.
