Avaya G430 - Failed firmware upgrade

Hello,

I tried following the steps to upgrade the firmware on a G430. When I did the reset to reboot the g430, the only lights that come on are the following.

ALM, PWR and all of the Ethernet ports lights (amber and green). All of these lights stay on steady.

What can I do to get back into this device?

I have tried rebooting the device, pressing the RST button as well as pressing the ASB button. Still having the same issue!

Any help would be great!

Hopefully you have just not followed the below procedure to the letter.

, you are pretty much limited to pressing the ASB switch(alternate software bank) and hoping that the alternate bank holds firmware that will allow it to boot.

Loading firmware from a bank other than the default bank during startup
Procedure
1. Press and hold the reset button.
2. Press and hold the ASB button.
3. Release the reset button.
4. Release the ASB button.

If you cant get to this stage and get it to boot you may well be screwed.

Not that they mean a thing anymore , get a brain dump pass the test crash the system.

thanks I will give this a try next week. this is my lab unit that I am teaching myself on! Not going so well right now!

so if you have your laptop set to 192.11.13.5/ 255.255.255.252 and use a crossover cable plug into the services port on the g430 , run arp -d from the cmd , try connect to 192.11.13.6 ssh , do you get a log in prompt.(i suspect not with your description)

If not then the alternate boot bank is unfortunately where you are at.
