The LED Status is Amber, Steady: Error encountered when running the diagnostic software <- this the manual says

I put ethernet cable one port in my LAN, and another one in my laptop, there is no connectivity.

Any idea?

Thanks a lot

You can stop the boot process and step into a small menu to download a new boot file, diag and image file. I'm just not sure how to stop the process. But I'm pretty sure you will find it in the docs.

Good luck

Hi Derfloh

Thanks for your comment, but I´ve been searching info about the boot sequence for this switch without success, I think the flash memory is corrupt.

Again , thanks a lot

Should be the same for ERS4500

Hi Derfloh

The document did not resolv the problem because the message **Once Diagnostics starts Hit control-c to break routine.** does not appear, I think is hardware damage.

Thanks a lot for your comments.

The doc tells you to stop boot by hitting control c when diagnostics start. That doesn't say that there is a message shown during boot to hit control c.

During boot you get diagnostic messages (fan, power supply...). That's the moment to press control c.

Hi Derfloh and Mkoker

When the switch begins boot

Booting...
Testing main memory - PASSED
Starting...

after that then I pressed Ctrl + C many times but no menu appears , I tried with hyperterminal, putty, teraterm pro terminals without success ..

Thanks for your comments.

I have no 4000 series switch to test... Btw... Did you upgrade the switch to R5.8.x? 4500 series only support firmware releases up to 5.7

Not within the boot to recover it.

avalentin, boot the thing and keep pressing CTRL c as a mad man until you get the menu to default the switch.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!
