You must first upgrade Java to 17 which is not documented so google linux alternates and you will need to update the symlink of latest. You do not need to modify the bash profile.
You cannot run SAL 4.2 and SLAmon on the same server (not that you should anyway).
After modifying the response properties for the upgrade run the installer in unattended mode.
