Has anyone used the Avaya CT TSP to achieve TAPI communication from a desktop to the definity via a CentreVu or Avaya CT Server?

We are looking at this piece to plug the gapping TAPI hole left by Avaya, but was curious as to others success with it.

Thanks
Daniel

I am also interested to hear if anyone has experience with this.

You mean to use the Avaya CT SDK to do CTI?
Or use the TAPI drivers?
I played with the TAPI drivers and could only get a few things working, so I gave up on it and went with CTI development using the SDK.

NCBrit, that my friend, comes with hours upon hours of Googleing. Ok maybe not that many, but here it is nonetheless:

This site also talks about their CTI development kit, for those who don't want to use the Avaya CT (CentreVu CT) SDK.
After many calls, I got the price, and fell off my chair. So we decided to build our own with the SDK. I know there is another 3rd party product:
You can follow that discussion here: thread690-778201

Hope that works out for you.

Hello - Daniel here again...

We used the Avaya CT TSP (Tapi Service Provider) from the above link of It is freeware and made available to the public. We used the standard built-in MS TAPI driver from the desktop with the Avaya CT Client installed as well as this TAPI TSP to communicate back to our T-Server. So far so good and no problems. Not sure what it will cost when we do have problems, but for the time being we are running...

Thanks
Daniel

If you don't mind me asking, what type of application are you using the TAPI drivers for?

Do you get callerid, vdn, etc?

We use it for inbound (Screen Pops) and outbound dialing. For the screen pops, if the caller ID matches the customer telephone number in our ERP package then the customer data populates the screen on the agent's computer.

For outbound - as they browse their to do's or call backs in our ERP they can click on a telephone icon next to the customer record and it will automatically dial their phone for them, etc.

Thanks
Daniel

Got it. Now it says I need release 3.3 ver 2.0 of the CT Client. Is that what you get if you download the CD image from the aforementioned page?

The CT Client comes with CentreVu CT server. That's your CTI server.

3.3 ver 2 is the Lucent CentreVu CT. This is what was originally sold with Definity version 7 and 8.

If you are on Multivantage 11, you would get the newer version which is called Avaya CT, with versions 1.2 (there may be a newer version though).

If you have a Avaya CT server, you can install the CT client from the same disk as the Avaya CT Server.

Unfortunately Avaya CT is not freeware.

Thanks for the help. We will have to try and find the CD. It may be lost though. Whats the odds on getting a replacement from Avaya?

Technically you should be able to get that.
If you have a maintenance contract or a good relationship, your odds are better. If you are looking for CDs for an older version thats discontinued, that will be a tad harder.
