My company has an Avaya S8800 PBX with CM 6.0.

We are adding a new site that will have only IP phones...no gateway or other actual phone system equipment.
Phones run over a 250 mb fiber connection back to the pbx.

Only problem is that if a user at the new site calls 911 then the address that will pop up for the 911 dispatch will be our main site. The new site is 2 miles down the road.

Is there a way within the pbx to tell it an address to transmit based on the extension placing the call?

Thanks.

You would need a gateway at the remote site with local trunks that have a Billing Telephone Number that has that address on it.

There are adjunct solutions like RedSky. I'm sure it's pretty pricey, you probably are better off doing what 4merAvaya stated, it will cost less.

At minimum a G450 with a MM711 with 1 or 2 copper trunks is definitely going to cost you less than a lawsuit. But if you are going to do a gateway, you should consider adding the S8300 for LSP and 911 calling ability.

911 is just something you don't want to fool around with.

just bring in a cheap analog phone line and hook up an emergency phone for 911 only, train users to only dial 911 from this special phone, other wise the gateway is your only other option.

If you have Session Manager, a cheap Audiocodes MP112 with a copper trunk can be setup at your remote location, but heck, even buying a G350 off ebay for $50 or a supported G430 with a MM711 would be easier

Thank you gents. I suspected the gateway was the only solution. I appreciate you confirming that. Have a great day.
