Hi ,

I have created a audio group G3 and it has some 10 boards ( both VAL and Virtual ) and each board already has some announcements .Now I want to add 1 announcement on a media gateway and I will make that Group/Board as G3. My question is now do I need to copy this new announcement to all the 10 boards in the Audio group OR is that it enough if we can copy it on few of the G3 boards or is it ok to be only on this G450 .

It needs to be on all of them.
System Manager is coming around in this regard and can let you upload a wav file for announcement X in group Y and will put them on all boards in group Y - except media servers because that would be too elegant...

Otherwise, if an announcement points at a group, make darn sure the file is on all boards in that group. CM in the background ultimately builds a relationship to know announcement X can be sourced from board 1,2,3,etc. It factors in to how it decides to service calls - if you call in a PRI channel on a gateway and need to hear an announcement it THINKS lives on a board in that gateway, it's going to think to use that local resource.

It might skip over and it might work, but for a support guy like me, I wouldn't like you very much the day you have a serious support case and tell me it always worked fine until one day when it didn't :)
