I am trying to update the firmware on thsi guy, doing it the same way i have always done my 9620's and it fails. It looks liek it si going to work, but never does the file obtained, etc. No idea what I am doing wrong, is there a trick to these? The About screen says 6.0.0.

Avaya 9641G firmware

The 9608/9611G/9621G/9641G use a "96x1Hupgrade.txt" file instead of the "96xxupgrade.txt" file used by the 9620. The zip file with whatever software you are trying to upgrade to (6.014C is the latest patch release) has the correctly configured .txt file in it.
