Have a avaya 8500 system that's having trouble. The problem is that they can't conference local calls. They have a PRI with two-way DID trunks for local calls and a T-1 for Long distance. Able to conference LD calls fine but when they try to conf local calls, one of the calls get dropped. We are the provider of the local PRI and do not maintain their switch. They are thinking it's our trouble and we are thinking it's the 8500. What do you guys think? Thanks for any help.

The conferencing feature is controlled by the PBX not the carriers. I am not sure why they can conference the long distance trunks but not the local ones though. Is the problem only when they conference two local trunks? What about one local trunk and two internal parties? One local, one long distance and the internal party?

There is a limit to how many people can be in a conference at one time (usually set to 6). This is a programmable feature.

I don't know if this can give you some mind.

we are s8300 use 2*pri E1 with DID, but fax always drop in tranmit.
our PRI provider tell us it is common problem when s8300 haven't the smae clock with PRI. if this will have call drops.

you have PRI and T1 and s8500, if the same problem?

Thanks PBXadmin, they say it's only when they try to conf two local trunks. I am strictly going by what they tell me, I haven't tried it.
