On a 3631 IP Handset- I have bridged 2 call appearances of another extension and they will not ring.

I have selected as yes both -

allow bridged call alerting

per button ring control

Any ideas of which steps or features I might be missing would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Phonemanrwj

If you go into ASA for the extension under "BUTTON ASSIGNMENT" where you have BRDG-APPR, there's a field that says "Rg:", by default this is set to (n)o ring. You can change it to (r)ing, so that the extension will ring on the local set.

Hope thats helpful!

Moshmoshi,

That was the first spot I checked.

I have them both selected to ring.

They, for some reason will not ring though.

It's a firmware issue. Make sure you're at the latest - I got a special load from an Avaya engr a while back.

JayNEC,

Which firmware load was it, can I get it from the AVAYA
web sight?

Thanks,

Has anyone had success actually installing the firmware to the phone? I copied the contents of the zip to my HTTP Server, but every time the phone tries to grab it, the install fails....

Any thoughts?

I have not had any success with upgrading the firmware as of yet.

The phone will not load O.T.A. or via the USB.

I continue to receive "No server" and "Bad File Address" error messages.

We also have a new issue with the phone not working from
AP to AP???

I checked the loads on the phone they are still at 1.1
I cannot locate anything that explains how to correctly
program the HTTP server address to the phone.

it would be in the 242 DHCP scope option.
httpsrvr=x.x.x.x

We figured it out the HTTP server was not configured correctly therefore unable to download the correct firmware version to the 3631 handset.
