I am trying to record an Avaya 2500 ymgk telephone set and having some problems. I have a Nice Total Logger running 8.8 and when I connect the 2500 to the logger port it constantly records. I can bumb the threshold up to a really high number and get it to stop but then it doesn't record calls. The 2500 is coming off a TN746B board is there program changes I need to be making on the Definity side????

any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you are using on/off hook it sounds like you may have a faulty port on the avaya if not it may be picking up mains hum. I had a similar problem with a pbx that was installed above a substation I had to change the recording method to on/off hook and not activity.

The channel is set up with a Detector Type of "Level". I can change the Threshold to something like 61 and get it to stop recording, but if I set it to what all of my other channels are set to it records constantly. I have tried different ports off of the Definity also.

Have you tried rebooting the logger this will reload the DSP's otherwise you could be looking at a faulty ADIF card. Try moving the phone to a spare recording ch (if you have one)

I have moved the set to three different channels on three different loggers, with the same results. According to Avaya which is our PBX vendor and the vendor that sold us the Nice Loggers there should not be a problem with recording this type of telephone set. I have a ticket open with Nice but they seem to have limited knowledge about Legacy PBX equipment and how it works....

I suppose the next thing to try is tap the phone at the frame dising the user cabling and see if this improves
