I like AVG 6 free and recommend it to people who don't have up to date AV installed, but it has this stupid glitch that I can't fix. It will update the virus defs fine for awhile and all the sudden start complaining about being unable to establish a connection and asks me to launch my browser. I am already connected and tried lauching the browser, then updating but it never fixes the problem. It happens on all my friends PCs too. You will have to constantly try to update till it finally decides to work. Does anybody know how to fix this problem? I'm on dialup and yes I have the "user confirms dialup connection" checked (tried it both ways) I'm about ready to buy AVG 7 just so I can ask for tech support on the matter. Thanks in advance.

PS: It will do this on 98-200-XP

It will probably just be how busy their server is - when its too busy you'll get that message (I get it too - but it generally makes the connection after 1 or 2 attempts. You can always just go to the website and download the update file - this always downloads no problem for me - just put it in \Program Files\Grisoft\AVG6\UPDATE & run AVG).

It usually takes about 10 attempts to get it connecting. They must have some outdated servers because they're always like this.
