Anyone have any ideas. I have 4 lines on a 6X16 I need to ring in a persons shop area. I have already set the lines to auxilary ring on and I bought a Valcom V-2001A paging system and V-1030c Bullhorn for his paging in the shop area to use. I tried to use this as paging an aux ringer but it doesn't work. Valcom says I need to buy a 6 line Audible ringer unit (Y-9936A)which gets hooked up to the incoming CO lines before going to the KSU and then to the paging system, not to the auxilary ringer punch down on the Nortel 66 block. Any other way or product available (cheaper) to get the lines to ring by using the aux ringer pin on the 66 block? I now know that the aux ringer needs to have it's own voltage. I also tried one of the aux ringers with the strobe light from Radio Shack hooked to the aux ringer pin out on the 66 block, but could not get it to work. It also needs to come from CO lines which would mean buying 4 of the for each line.

you will need something that can change contact closure to an audible ring, Valcom V-9927A, bogen TAM-B or Viking PAA-2a are all products that can do this as well as others. I think the most affordable is the viking product but you would want to check them all out. I think that the strobe you were looking at from radio shack needs the 90 volt ringer to activate where all you get from the aux ringer is loop closure. If you want to see if you have programmed the system correctly just put an ohmmeter across the violet brown pair. JerryReeve

Valcom 1030C Horn, 624 power supply, connect to M7208/M7310 using middle two pins of the headset jack.

DueE,
A note for you when you use that configuration is that any conversations that take placae near the telephone tht has the PA hooked up to it are picked up by the handset earpiece and broadcast over the PA horn. Had a customer who had this kind of a setup and didn't realize what was happening. JerryReeve

We've not had any reports of that issue with any of the installs that we've done like that, but thanks for the information.

WindyCity,
I have a diagram on how to wire a loud bell up to a Nortel switch. Just e-mail me @ darrenmack99@yahoo.com and I will send it to you. If not, this is how you do it. This is using a Wheellock loud bell. It is the same for any other type.
Using the outside pair only (black & yellow)
From your power supply's positive terminal run that to 1 terminal on
your contact.The Nortel KSU
From the 2nd terminal on the contact,Nortel KSU, run that to the yellow wire.
The negative terminal connects directly to the black wire going to the
UTA-1.The loud bell.
Dmac,
