I am having a problem that appears to be caused by Autotext.

I have some failry lenghty/complex formatting Autotext entries and at times using one will freeze my system. The problem does not appear to be just one entry as I can use each of them without a problems but after having the document open for about 10 minutes the system will freeze and I will lose all my data.

Just as a side note I have to let you know that Autosave does not remedy the problem of losing the data from above for some reason as well.

Just curious if any of you have ever heard of or experienced this problem before and how you remedied it.

Thanks in advance.

What version of Windows and Word are you using?

Thanks,

Fred

I've researched the problem you're having to no avail. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.

That bothers me.
Sounds like maybe you're pushing the limit for Word. I'm not receiving notifs from this site for some reason (emailed the owner, no reply yet), but perhaps you should be using INCLUDE TEXT fields instead. You should check that out. :)

Agree with Anne. AutoText is a powerful tool, but it really is designed for reasonably simple, well , autotext.

Complex formats and lengthy entries should be done with field codes and styles. Can't emphasize styles enough.
