autorun not working

I have autorun enabled on my PC that has Win 2000 NT Pro but some programs won't start when I put the cd in and they won't prompt when I try to acess the exe files. I don't have this problem on my PC that has Win 98. Is it a Win 2000 problem or a problem with my hardware.

Any help would be apreciated
