Automating data export when report run

Am I dreaming or is there a way to enter a function in a report that will execute an export of data to flat file.
(Instead of making user go thru the export process each time)

Do you wish the export to occur as a byproduct of viewing the report or do you prefer to trigger the export without needing to view the report?
