is it possible for data to be sent from excel to access. we have a access database here that hold information on all our pcs. I used to be in an excel format but unfortunatly the girl in sharge of updating insists on using the spreadsheet so what i want to do is let her use the spreadsheet but get the data that she enters and place it in the database

yup - have a look at libe links from Access to excel via linking tables. Other than that, look into ADO / DAO / ODBC for data transfer - you can also create queries in access based on ecternal spreadsheets - as long as the location and name is consistent

You could try the quick and easy way of "Import data" within your access database or els try linking it from excel to Access
