Hi, using CR 9 and also 8.5. Need to refresh data in report every so many minutes. Don't have enterprise. Is this possible? I suspect not... if anyone can suggest some utilities on the web that can do this, I would be grateful.

Thanks

Hit the lightening bolt on the report and it will refresh.

If you need to refresh it automatically, you'll want a scheduling utility, or download and run a macro recorder/scheduler freeware program to do it for you.

Check tucows.com, they're are lots of freebies out there.

There are also 3rd party tools you might purchase:

-k

-k

Do you mean refresh the data on the screen or in the file?

If on the screen, then besides the options outlined above, you can use the free Windows task scheduler to trigger Crystal to load a report via a command line. The problem there is that it would load into the design view. You can use the same approach to trigger a 3rd-party Crystal viewer
(see list at to load and view a report every N minutes. You simply need to make sure the viewer application accepts a report name and, if needed, also parameter values as command line arguments.

If you mean refresh the rpt file with current data then any report manager (see link provided by -K above) would do this for you by setting up the report to export to an rpt file format. Crystal exports to an rpt file always includes saved data.

CUT, Visual CUT, and DataLink Viewer:
view, e-mail, export, burst, distribute, and schedule Crystal Reports.

Looking through the links, I am not sure if it will do what I need. I need to refresh the data every few minutes, such as the current call logs to a call center. Also, would this be easily done in a crystal enterprise setting?

Thanks

It is still not clear which option you are after. If all you need is refresh an rpt file with saved data, than either one of the Report Manager utilities or CE would easily do the job.
