HI people. i posted a post before but didn't get my answer heres my situation. i have a win2k server with xp clients on and AD environment. i want to be able to use a screensaver to auto logoff my users. i tried the default xp screensaver by doing the following.
Create a group policy.
Edit the policy
Goto "User Configuration"
Goto "Administrative Templates"
Goto "Control Panel"
Goto "Display"
There are 4 policies you will need to set
Enable "Screen Saver"
Enable "Screen Saver Executable Name"
Set the screen saver name to "logon.scr"
Enable "Password protect the screen saver"
Enable "Screen Saver timeout"
Set the time to whatever you want
after doing this my clients do get the screensaver enabled but after i wake the screensaver it does not lock the workstation. i would like to get it to were it requires a password to unlock the workstation as the default xp screensaver does. i have had one person say that this works for them but no one else has confirmed it. please if anyone knows how to do this please post. This is good practice and i believe that microsoft should have a update on their next service pack.
Thanks, PAUL
