I have a reception at ext 10. I am trying to have the automated attendant answer and direct calls. I would like to have the reception answer all calls directed to her during the day. I would like the automated attendant to pick up and direct calls as soon as possible. I took the recetion out of the automantic VMS cover #310 and it increased the rings before the auto attendant picked up. I put her back and it was down to two rings. This is a acs 2.0 i believe. If this worked the way i thought I would give the reception a VMS cover button for when she leves at night. Am I missing something?

Hi jeffuswilliamsdon,
If you want the auto attendant to answer all calls and reception gets those who "0" out, then leave her with vm coverage (#310). There is no reason to take her out. Assign coverage to someone for ext 10. She can have the calls covered but still get the general mailbox in case everyone is busy. I don't know about R2.0 but on later revs you can set vm cover rings on an station by station basis. Take her up to 5 or 6 rings.

How can I know the System version without opening the hareware and how to set ext10 to 6 or 7 rings with VMS cover rings (#117) on at station by station basis.

If you have a display phone try Feature 59 to see wht you have.

Thank you all so much.
Now I knew the version is "P ACS R2.0" from Feature 59, is that means I can't set the ext10 to 6 or 7 rings with VMS cover rings (#117) on at station by station basis?
