There is a woman in the office who is leaving on maternity leave and she would like to setup her e-mail so that anything from companyx.com will be forwarded to Robert Jones (in global list). How is this possible?

-Nate

You set the Out of Office Assistant first, and simply create a rule to handle the specific e-mails to go to Robert Jones.

Whoops, first, are you on an Exchange Server?

Yes I am.... I selected my inbox, then I went to Tools->Rules Wizard and set it there though, I did not know that you could do it with auto of office assitant though, thanks.

If you not checked out rules wizard I suggest you do, theres TONS of different options/exceptions that you can set!!

-Nate

You have to make sure you use the rules on the server and not on the client. If you setup a client side rule, it won't fire unless the client is running. It's best to use the Out of Office Assistant, as it will always fire.

Also be aware that large companies normally prevent this option to avoid infinite loops

ex.
An employee here had forwarding setup to forward all incoming messages to his yahoo email account. Well, Yahoo sent replies back one day saying their "system was down and would be back up shortly". Well, you can guess that the two exchange servers kept sending email back and forth almost instantaneously until our exchange server went down.

Anyway, sorry to stray off topic a bit, but it does depend on whether the rule is allowed to begin with.

Out of Office Assistant will only reply back to an e-mail acccount once.

Now, if Yahoo's automatic response came from a different addy each time...loop away! :)

Wow, thanks! I would set up the rule in the wizard, turned her machine off and been on my way. I didn't think that since the rule is on the client, how could it possible act if the client is shut off... I am going to set it up in Out Of Office Assistant, thanks a lot for all your replies =)
