I'm trying to migrate from dBase to Access (bringing everything under one umbrella - Office 2000, Professional Edition) for data entry. Always using numbers of fixed fieldwidth 1 or 2 digits. In dBase, when the maximum number of digits for a field has been reached, entry advances automatically to the next field. In Access, I can't figure out how to do this, without having to double the keystrokes by pushing the Enter key. I have been able to restrict the number of digits, but it just sits there, without advancing. Please help, if you can. I'm sure this is one of those simple solutions, but the Help function doesn't seem to offer much help.

Kevin,

Simple.

Checkout the help on Auto Tab Property for a text box.

When set to yes a tab will be issued when the last character of the input mask is entered.

So,

If you have a 2 digit field Input Mask will be 99 and Auto-Tab set to Yes.
