Automatic delete of temporary internet files

First of all, let me say that I am glad I found this site. Lots of useful information and knowledge can be found here.

Now, on to question. I am trying to get IE6.0 in XP-Pro to automatically delete temporary internet files upon closing browser. I have checked the box under advanced settings in properties of IE so that it is supposed to delete the temporary internet files upon closing browser. On some of the machines here this setting works fine. On others, it will not work. I can manually delete the temporary internet files, but would like to get all the machines to do so automatically.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!
 
I complained about this issue to the IE development team in an MVP Chat session just this week. They claim that the only thing barring this feature working is if another instance of IE is open.

I don't believe this, and told them so. There is no workaround that I know of other than to occasionally use some other way to clean the TIF folder. I use a utility to do so, but the "sageset" and "sagerun" features of native Disk Cleanup tool works pwerfectly well in a .bat, .cmd or shortcut fashion, including as a scheduled task at system startup:
