G3SI R12. What is this and is it necessary to have it on?

one function is to determine which trunk members are utilized for short and long calls.

Its mostly used for short, or long calls on a trunk. If you get a short call, (ie a trunk dropping) it will notify you. If you have a long call (ie a modem, or a hacker) it will notify you.
