Is there a way (with a rule or otherwise)to automatically save (or move)an attachment to a specified folder without user intervention?

If you are using Outlook you can create a rule that saves the entire e-mail (including attachment) to a specified Outlook folder. In Outlook go to Tools | Rules Wizard and use the wizard to setup a rule as follows:

Apply this rule after the message arrives
which has an attachment
move it to the specified folder

Hope that helps.

Hi Mike,

Thanks, but that's not what I wanted... should have been more specific. I want to automatically save the attachment to a folder outside of outlook with out user intervention. Don't want to have to open the email and then right click and "save as". Want a rule or a way to do this automatically. Not sure that this is possible but hope it might be.

Here is one method using Microsoft Access
