Is there any way to keep an automated server message (rules wizard) from sending the message to the sender?

I.E.
If Microsoft sends me an email and i have a rule set up to move this message to a public folder, then send a server message to a distribution list that there is a new message in this public folder, how would I keep the notification from going back to microsoft? is there an option I have to uncheck?

no one's run into this before?

this rule is used to send a 1k notification instead of a 5mb message to ~20 recipients

If your rules are exactly as you describe, this shouldn't be happening unless Microsoft is a member of the distribution list.

should and shouldnt are 2 words that pop up a lot with microsoft products ;)

I've gone through everything i can think of, even setting up an identical rule from scratch on another pc. It will still send the automated server message to the original sender.

I also tried scrapping the rule and just changing it to a "move to xxxxxx folder", then tried to set up the folder assistant to send a notification when a message arrives, but it can only reply to sender or forward the message to a distribution list. There's no option to just send a notification to my distribution list.

the rule is working.. everyone on the list is getting the message, but it's also sending the notification that there is a new message in the incoming messages folder back to the original sender. just wondering if there is a hidden option, maybe registry hack?

I don't have an answer, but here's one last thought. Maybe create 2 rules and change the order.

1st rule: after receiving message, send distribution notice.
2nd rule: move the message.

It shouldn't make a difference, but as you pointed out......
