Guys

I would like to be able to do a copy and paste my running config into a wordpad document, make some changes then paste it back onto another Cisco device. It seems to work if I do it line by line but not if I try to paste it all together. Can anyone tell me how to do this as it would save me loads of time!!

What I would do is copy the config to a tftp server then TFTP it into the new router and then make the changes. Otherwise you need to build a script which includes interface statements, exit commands to return one line, things like that.

at what prompt are you trying to past the config into the router. if at the hash, conf t. ie,
router# the whole config will go in as long as the IOS supports the commands.
