Hi:

I have two questions regarding label printing from Access. I am trying to print labels using Access DB and a label printer (Brady BP-1244). 1) Is there any way to directly print Access labels from a report using a label maker, or can you only achieve that with a regular printer? 2) If question 1) is no, is there any way to control the label printer software from access, perhaps through automation, so I can issue the print command from within the database, instead of having to open up the label maker software to print my labels? From what I know about our system, first a textfile (label template) is exported from Access, which is then used by the label maker to print labels. I know that this would be much easier using a regular printer, but my boss insists on using the label maker. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx.

iojbr,

Although there is a native Windows driver for these printers, printing to them from Access is difficult (depends on the label layout). However there is an ActiveX control. I know you can use it from VB, but I am NOT sure about Access. I believe you can convert it....

So that being said, I believe you will find what you are looking for here.
