Hi!
I've got a spreadsheet like this...

Extn Name Price Plan Usage
XXX xxx $0.0 14
$0.0 22
$0.0 18

How do I copy down the Extn and Name to fill in where there are rows of data. With the spreadsheet like this, I can't sort and bring along all of the price plan/usage info. I'm filling in the Extn and Name so I can sort all the information together. The spreadsheet has over 20K rows of data like this. If I select the range and hit Ctrl + D for every Extn/Name combo, I figure this would take me way longer than I'm willing to spend.

Any suggestions? TIA!!

Hi PenelopeC,

Use another column, say column E.

In E1 enter =A1
In E2 enter =IF(A2="",E1,A2)

Copy E2 down column E as far as your data goes
Copy Column E and Paste Special | Values into Column A
Delete Column E

Repeat for Column B

Enjoy,
Tony

Stars and Kudos for you today Tony!![medal] THANK YOU so much! It worked great and I feel like a doofus now that I see how easy it was.

When the person requesting this actually gets it I'm going to be such a hero--I will definitely be passing on the credit to you (though she won't know what the hell I'm talking about.)

I love having Tek-Tip Forums in my corner [thumbsup]!
