What code can I drop into a field in Access, so that the date I enter information is automatically entered in that field? I know that Date () will drop in today's date, but then, of course, it changes each day. I want the data to be entered at the creation of an entry, then remain unchanged thereafter.

In the table definition (design view), set =Date() as default value for the field.

It will only update on the entry, not modifications.

Set the Default value for that field in the underlying table to
=Date()

That will insert the Date in your record when you create a new one. It will not change existing records even if you update some information in the record.
