I have trouble drawing to 1to1 scale and then fittng a 200ft length onto 11x17 paper to scale. When I measure the drawing on the 11x17 paper it does not match the scale.

There must be a easier way to draw a scale drawing.

The trouble with small format printing is that the paper has defined margins that you cannot print on. THis reduces the print area and scales get reduced down. The easiest solution is to experiment and "tweak" the scale. Basically by trial and error, alter the scale till you get what you want. Record the altered scale and use it again when you want. Note, another printer may have different margins and necessitate a recalc.
