Auto message checking not working.

Windows office XP Pro running on Windows XP. Suddenly automatic checking for messages has decided to stop working.
Send/receive manually is fine, but a bit of a nuisance having to keep checking for new mail.

I assume you use outlook.
In Tools - Options - Send and Receive

You have 2 options
send and receive settings for outlook online and offline.

schedule an automatic send and receive every xxx minutes.

Did you check the "When Outlook is online" box and give some value to the minutes.

I'm having the exact same problem on Outlook 2002 on my Win XP Home platform.
All of the settings and values have been double checked. It should work but does not.
Outlook will only Send/Receive if the button is clicked manually.
Can anyone help?
