I have a user who keeps having problems when using auto insertion in a word generated form... is there a limit to the number of caracters that can be put in auto insertions?

The problem is that everytime the user tries to select the text to auto insert and clicks the auto insertion button word crashes.

any and every help will be greatly appreciated.

Are you using Insert AutoText or are you using a macro to insert the necessary text into Word?

If you are using AutoText what version of Word are you using
?
Are you using the View Toolbars Forms?
Please advise.

using the insert auto text, office 2k premium with all the service packs.

The form is generated through another application called FoxPro.

In your first post you state it is Word generated form. Your second post you state it is a Foxpro generated form.

Could you clarify? What, exactly, do you mean by a generated form?

If it is a document form, is the autotext being inserted into a form field? Does the autotext entry actually exist?

There IS a limit to an AutoText name. Does the AutoText entry show up in the AutoText list?

will try to make it clear....

FoxPro generates a form in word.

The user tries to generate an auto text entry but can't get any further since word crashes at that point...ie typed the text in, highlighted it then click on inset auto text then.... word freezes.

I know that the auto text entry that the user is trying to generate is about 5 lines of text long.

hope this makes it clearer.

(sorry if it doesn't... i can create an active directory structure with my eyes closed but i really don't know word that well... i know it shows.)
