I will like to create a shortcut on desktop that could call a particular form in ACCESS application (ACCESS 97) through DOS command :

Something like the following:

H:\COMMON\SUPPLOG\Supplog.mdb /x OpenReq /Ini h:\common\supplog\supplog.ini /user ksk

I am not able to do this after I convert the application from Access 2.0 to Access 97. I am not able to make use of Autoexec macro as I will need to call different forms at times (i.e. I need to create 2 or more shortcuts on desktop)

Pls advice what should be done.

Regds

Put the shorcut in the Start up folder.
I guess you want the app to launch when the machine boots right?
Here's how:
Right click the "Start" button on your desktop. then click "Open" then Double click the "Programs" folder then double click "Startup". Create a new Icon there.

here is one I have right now.

"C:\Microsoft Office97\Office\MSACCESS.EXE" C:\TIMESAVR\FILES\db1.mdb /X OpenOrder

There are 7 parts to it:
1. Drive and full path to Access
2. a blank space
3. Drive and full path to the .MDB or .MDE (if you have one).
4. a blank space
5. /X
6. another blank space
7. then the name of the macro, without any spaces in its name.

OK, now in Access create a macro that opens your form.
That's the name that goes into the above. In may case it's "OpenOrder". Note: The macro name cannot have any spaces in it.

We've used this for years since Windows '95 and I'm on Win 2000 Pro right now.
The machine boots and then we are setting on the form which the macro called. Works great!!!!

DOS is dead, leave a dead dog alone.

DougP
dposton@universal1.com

Ask me how Bar-codes can help you be more productive.
