I just emailed some career information to a friend at his home address but Outlook Express sent the email to his work address - big embarassment but why did it happen?

I wrote out the address long hand but when the message had gone and was in the Sent box the address had defaulted to his work address.

I guess this has something to do with his work address being the default address and that rather than defaulting to this address only when writing his name Express defaults to this address even if I specify his alternate email.

Am I right? If so can I turn default off completely? If not please help me find out the problem.

Thanks a lot!

Check your address book, you probably have your freinds work address set up on your contact list. You will need two contacts one for home one for work. Note when you are over writing your email address Outlook Express is doing a spell check from your address book. As soon as you type your friends name OE has designated it to go to the one on your contact list. Reply to any email received and you will add that address and name to your contact list.

Thanks for your help. I do have my friend's work address in the OE address book and not his home one. Where the problem lies seems to be that I have both email addresses in Outlook - work address as "E-mail" and home address as "E-mail 2". OE seems to recognise the home address from Outlook and then inserts the work address. Setting up the home address in the OE address book sorts it out but it's a serious glitch!
Thanks again for your help.
