Bit of a strange one and found it hard to believe but seems to be the case. Just installing new Ipoffice V2. All phones are IP and SIP but we had to sell a digital 30 as well as the customer is using some dialler software. This uses a digital extensions to make 3 external calls (Horrible Cold Calling!!) then transfer to an agent (On IP Extension) The problem is when we test this with Tapi in order for this to work properly a digital phone has to be plugged into each digital extension wants the IPOffice has booted. After this we can take the digital phone out as its not required and Tapi still works for that digital extension. This would be acceptable but if the IP Office reboots a digital phone needs to be plugged back into every socket again to reactivate the digital extension. This seems madness to me but Dialer software engineers says this is standard practice.

Is there any other way of activating these digital extension without leaving expansive digital phones plugged in that will never be used. Maybe bridging wires or something

Any advice much appreciated

This is not your issue to fix (not that you can anyway). I've never heard of them using digital stations, what kind of crap dialler have they bought? :)

Hey thanks for your reply. Ha that's what I thought but when I told them they got really defensive and said that no one has ever complained and that there one of the leading vendors in the uk it called Adaptive Predictive Dialler

I imagine that's NMS Adaptive? I didn't realise they used digital stations like this.... they are indeed a big player in the UK (only one I know of actually) :)

Just buy a load of 5402's and wire them into a cupboard somewhere, then lock the door and forget them :)

Ha yes though about that maybe just get some damaged ones still seems mad to me [banghead]
