I want to be able to call one number and have it dial multiple phone numbers (conference them in). I tried setting up a hunt-group but it didn't work and Avaya says it can't be done. Can anyone offer any ideas on this?

Hi
In this case Avaya says right.
Sure you know that you can make loudspeaker paging voice announcement
louds in multiple zones simultaneusly but it is 'listen-only" broadcasting.
:-(
What exactly you want to get, may be your secretary will collect manualy
all members on conference for you ?
:)

What do other people do when a manager wants to streamline the conference calling process?

Only thing I can think of is to add a bridged appearance on all of their phones to your phone - say the 3rd appearance which is rarely used, and they can all pickup on it, and will be conferenced. If you used this, however, you'd have to add an "exclusion" button on the manager's phone, and he'd have to press it everytime he wanted privacy in conversations. The good thing about it is that if they bridge to the 3rd call-appearance on the manager's phone..anytime he wanted to conference - he could manually select his 3rd appearance, and maybe use voice-paging to alert the other members to "pickup my line 3 for a conference call". He'd also gain privacy by using his 1st appearance (by default), and the other members would not be able to pickup on his 1st and 2nd call appearances.

..not a very "featureful" feature though. I dont know of any system that can do this, but it is a great idea.
I'd also like to add that i've never tried this - but I dont see why it wouldn't work. If you try it - let us know. I think i'll try it on monday as well..;)

I ended up going the other way and setting up a simple VDN to vector with route to station. Then made sure there is no coverage. I can have upto 5 people additional people call 1-800 number I assigned and ring to the one station. All we have to do is press conf the calling line then conf. Repeated for each incoming call. Nice thing is since it is a seperate VDN I can tell if it is someone for the conference call or not.

That is default behavior though - conf. (dial number) then conf. again...that didnt sound like the goal you were trying to meet. Or are you saying that by dialing that VDN, you can press conference once, and dial a hunt-group?

That doesn't make sense..Im interested in hearing your exact solution if you can share it..

thanks..

What I am doing is keeping things simple. I give out an 800 number to 5 people then have them call around a given time. I setup the station to have no coverage so it will ring always. Then I pickup the first call and conference each additional caller as they come in. So the only 2 things I did were to setup a vdn for on of our 800 lines to point to a specific station via route-to command and setup the station multiple lines and no coverage.
