Auto Attendant on Second Line

Hi,

I go from one issue to another...fortunately I am making some progress. The current problem is as follows:

1. Someone makes a call out on Line 1
2. Soon after someone calls in...

Line 1 starts to sound that a call is coming in - this is a problem and is disruptive to the person on Line 1

Line 1 and Line 2 are in Pool A. Both are set to use Auto Attendant...

I thought that when Line 1 is in use, the call should be routed to Line 2?

What am I missing? I'm sure I'm missing something...

Did you have the phone company setup hunting on these line?

Did you get call waiting on these lines?
you would get a Blip, Blip sound to indicate a 2nd call is waiting.

 
Thanks for the "basic telephony" explanation. I guess I'm trying to understand the basics as I do this and for your help I am appreciative. I'm not a telephony programmer...

If we had call waiting on the lines what would I need to do? What about hunt groups - I see settings on them in the admin options...

I'm truly green regarding this and simply want to get my phone system functional, as it should be.
