if you use vpopmail, YOU HAVE TO INCLUDE THE DOMAIN in the username field.
Remember, vpopmail is a virtual domain manager. It doesn't know which domain to serve if you only say "user".
You should be able to use the "@" sign in the username BTW, wasn't sure if you used the "%" in your example to make the post readable or not...
