We installed new IPO for a customer with meridian system. Customer has only one line that support local land line, mobile calls and international calls.
Another line that supports local and mobile.
I have set short code to use these lines

9N for line that supports mobile and local calls.
7N for line that support international, mobile and local calls

The problem is whenever some one dials 9N and use the line other users cant dial, because the line is busy, they have no plans to bring new line that supports calls to local and mobile, so they want the other line to be configured like this,

7N : then they can dial local , mobile and international but when an international number is dialed it should ask for authorization code, authorization code is enable from registry and code has been set.

How should i configure the line so that when any number greater that 10 digits are dialed it should ask for authorization code?
Local number is 7 digits
Mobile number is 10 digits
international number 10+ digits

Also the old meridian system had an option which will show which extension/user is currently using the line that supports local and mobile number dialing.

So they want to see on the phone which user is currently using the line?

Can we do this via the button programming, which option should i select?

Phone model is 1608.

Please advice.

Why can't people understand that the IP Office is different as let's say, a Meridian, a Nortel, or any other PABX?

No you cannot see who is on the line unless you have a BLF showing the status of all users and the busy extension might be using the line.

Shortcodes
7XXXXXXX/Dial/N/Line ID 1 >> localnumbers
7XXXXXXXXXX/Dial/N/Line ID 1 >> national numbers
7XXXXXXXXXXN/Dial/N/LineID 1, authorisation ticked >> international numbers

or something like that.

Two analog lines, not much of a IP Office, I hope not it is on basic mode, then you are really in trouble.

thanks intrigrant.
i am training the people to use the phones and features.
ip office is preferred edition.
i will set the short codes under user rights and update you.
by the way i added more analog line but unfortunately they can dial only local numbers :( so i should do this for them.

What option should i put under button to show that the line for mobile and international is in use? Some kind of visual indication that the line is being used will be acceptable by the customer.

I tried (line appearance, selected the line, immediate ) and it makes the LED above the button blinks but if i press that button i can hear what the other party is talking :O :O

7XXXXXXX/Dial/N/Line ID 1 >> local numbers
7XXXXXXXXXX/Dial/N/Line ID 1 >> national numbers
700N/Dial/N/Line ID 1, authorization ticked >> international numbers
This worked for me

Now it opens the line when you enter the auth code and you can dial the international number...

Nice, you've learned something and it works! Great!

intrigant ,
any way to display which extension is using the line?
I mean via BLF. I want to configure a button which shows that a particular line is being used?

Hi,
This is a function I was looking for for long time.

As far as I know one can't see if lines are used.

A standard function in other systems... :(
On 50% of installation, one ask me for that...

You can this with line appearances but why do you want to see which line is in use?
It is totally non usable information.
Get a proper trunk with enough channels (that is what is needed)

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

@ tlpeter,
When you have line appearences, you also get all call incomming on these.
then totaly useless.

On the alcatel OXO systems I also install, it's used to see for a non technician user if there's a problem with a T0 channel, locked to busy, or other when it is getting short in accesses.

The IP Office has the best monitoring and troubleshooting software/interfaces I've seen (even with SSA's quirks), no need to burn up keys for this, if lines aren't working so frequently end users need to monitor them get them fixed... there is rarely a need for end users to see such info but they can always web browse to the system and use SSA or even use "Call Status" while not supported still works fine for this :)
